Employees may take preventive cool-down rest when needed to prevent overheating. The foreman documents the start time, cooling method, water/shade provided, observed or reported symptoms, and follow-up check. Work may resume only when the employee reports recovery, shows no signs or symptoms requiring emergency response, and the foreman verifies adequate controls remain in place. If signs or symptoms of heat illness are present, the employee must not be left alone or sent away alone, and emergency response must be initiated when required or when in doubt.

Employee confirms they received an adequate amount of rest before returning to work.
